Mwakilishi wa Wazee Welezo Mzee Shein, akimshukuru Mwenyekiti wa NGOs ya Go For Zanzibar Antje Fleische, kwa msaada wao na kumtaka kuwa Balozi wao huko Nje kuwawakilishi ili kuweza kupata misaada zaidi hasa gari kwa ajili ya kutembelea sehemu mbalimbali wakati wa sikukuu na kutumika kwa shughuli zao za kawaidi.

German help organization GOZA is celebrating Christmas 6 degrees south in Zanzibar together with the old people (Wazee) in Welezo Old Age Home

Since five years now the German help organization GO FOR ZANZIBAR (GOZA) NGO is supporting the Welezo Old Age Home.

Different charity offers have been done since the cooperation with the old age home in Welezo started in 2010.

 

The main offers in the last years were:

 

     Renovation of two wards and improvement of the sanitary facilities

     Establishing a regular medical support for the old people

     Support of food, medecine, clothes, wheel chairs

     Workshops in basic nursing for the nurse assistance

 

The donation amount in the last five years covers a budget of round 22,000,000 TSH (10,000 Euro).

A main goal for the German help organization is the knowledge transfer to the medical staff of the old age home. Therefore very experienced nurses from Germany traveled to Zanzibar and hold several workshops in basic nursing as well as mobilization of old people.

In January 2016 the next workshops will take place. The manager nurse Renate Conrad from Tuebingen will teach in Welezo.

Antje Fleischer, Director of GOZA NGO:“We are very thankful for the good cooperation with the nurses in Welezo as well as with the government of Zanzibar and cooperation partners like ZOP (Zanzibar Outreach Program). Without the help of the local partners it would not be possible for us to do a sustainable work here in Zanzibar.“

Mussa Baucha, project manager of GOZA NGO:“As I am a Zanzibari I am very proud to be able to work for my own people in such a professional way together with my co-workers and board members of our organization GOZA.“

       Each donation will be forwarded directly and without full deduction to 100 percent of the projects in Zanzibar

         Projects and goals:

  Support for (HIV)-orphans

  Support for kindergartens and schools

  Amelioration of living conditions especially for elderly, destitute people

  Amelioration of medical/health care
